El paso, TX - Wednesday, April 14th

We had home stay in Las Cruces. I had a lovely night with a guy named Joe. He housed 7 of us, treated us to smoothies, and we watched one of his favorite movies with him.

Everyone reconvened at the synagogue early in the morning and enjoyed an awesome breakfast while the lead van marked the route. We needed to get on the road quickly to make it to our Global Health Day event at the Paul L. Foster school of medicine in El Paso. Along the way we made two important stops.

One at what we thought was the the sign for entering Texas

And then again about 400 yards down the road at another sign welcoming us to Texas.

When we entered the city we all met at a gas station to rack our bikes since the streets weren't very bicycle friendly. We headed over to our event, which turned out to be awesome.

We gave our revamped lecture and they had an additional lecturer. I may have missed that lecture due to my need to sell merchandise whenever possible. But it worked out for me because while I was out staffing our table I got to give an interview to a newspaper.

From our global health day we headed to the Holiday Inn where we had donated rooms for the next two days!!! I unfortunately didn't make it to the pool because it was Team Tango's turn to do laundry.

We pit stopped at Walmart for detergent and refreshments and headed to Lone Star laundry. Those industrial washers are very impressive! We filled three of them for all our gear!

Then we attempted to use our resources to dry those items none of us are willing to put in a real dryer. It didn't last very long once the wind started up a bit, but it seemed like a good idea at least for a little while.

After sorting all the laundry we rounded out the night with a trip to a little brewery for dinner and then a hotel party ending at the hotel bar which as it turns out is an extremely happening place on a Wednesday night in El Paso! We danced our pants off and before resting our tired bodies in comfy beds made a quick trip back to walmart for some snacks!
